Apple profits rise high by 78 percent

Apple claims to have crossed a 78 percent mark with respect to year-on-year profits for a second quarter of 2010, despite the iPhone antenna saga.

It was added that the company soared its overall sales via pumping up sales of its iPad and iPhone devices, and thus posting revenue of £10.3 billion ($15.7 billion). This indicates a rise of 61 per cent released with respect to last year’s results.

Profits also soared up by 78 per cent from last year, reaching £2.1 billion ($3.25 billion).

The stock market too boasts of an increase by 3 percent soon after the release of the financial results. Apple listed out that it has already shipped 8.4 million iPhone units which means an overall increase of 61 per cent in sales compared to 2009.

Apple in the meanwhile proclaimed that it has shipped 3.47 million Macintosh computers, which goes way beyond 3.2 million units predicted by Wall Street analysts.

It was observed by the market analysts that the sales figure leaped 33 per cent up due to an increase in business from schools and colleges, flowing more cash for the firm.
