Games review – Fallout: New Vegas – Dead Money is bust

We’re not sure if those arguing that the bugs in Fallout have been exaggerated are delusional or simply the luckiest gamers around. It’s unfortunate that a game as ambitious and entertaining as New Vegas is primarily going to be remembered for its technical glitches but Bethesda and Obsidian only have themselves to blame. And we’re [...]

Back to the Future The Game: It’s About Time (PC) review

The last two weeks have been especially kind to thirtysomething gamers. Much of Tron: Legacy was a heartwarming nostalgia trip, most notably the scene at Flynn’s arcade to Journey’s ‘Separate Ways’ and now this week Telltale Games reimagines another landmark 80′s film, Back to the Future. Contrary to popular belief the Japanese do use PCs to play games, although not generally for the sort of retail or indie titles we in the West are used to. Instead they have their own homebrew scene; as well as a huge market for visual novels (a sort of barely interactive graphic adventure similar to [...]

This is all the more true for movie tie-ins, as the spin-off games are, more often than not, treated as mere marketing leverages to build enough hype for the movie. Then [...]
